This work centers an enlarged field of flowering plants rendered through layered washes of color and gestural line work. Botanical forms overlap, bend, and press against one another, creating a dense composition that emphasizes growth, interdependence, and vitality. Color is used intuitively rather than descriptively, allowing the plants to shift between recognizable species and more abstracted natural rhythms. The visible layering and translucency of paint highlight process and movement, reinforcing the sense of an active, living environment rather than a static still life. By magnifying these organic forms and allowing them to fill the pictorial space, the work invites close attention and sustained looking. This piece reflects my ongoing interest in how plant life can shape atmosphere and emotional experience, and how natural forms can serve as grounding, restorative presences within built or interior spaces.
